The blather about terrorists, security, and like is just part of his role as spokes person for the neocons.  The issues of use of the media and content are irrelevant to them, for they are fighting the battle of promoting their complex agenda.  And part of this struggle is for them to say that which supports their causes as often as they can.  Thus Bush has total disregard for the evidence and reasonable conclusion drawn therefrom.  He speaks like an attorney, namely as an advocate for a position.  Speaking as advocate the Republican President says what his group feels will further their causes. 

            This phenomena of speaking as an advocate is not just limited to lawyers and politicians.  The public statements, for example of Catholic clergy on topics of faith is often quite different than what they say among themselves off the record.  It is important to recognize this phenomena, if you want to form  reasonable opinions, on the matter before you, and thus to realize that the content is slanted.  Similarly it is important to recognize the mass media has a particular slant, and that news services now that the Fairness Doctrine.  Truth is only a tool to those who speak as advocates. 

As they say If you put garbage in, you’ll get garbage out.  Thus beware of relying upon as sources of information those who speak as advocates.  Either recognize their particular slant and adjust for it, or better yet find balanced sources—such as this website.
